We will talk about success strategies and tips. I have invited Summerhays Music to come and be available to answer any questions about instrument rentals. They are also ready to exchange any size instrument if your student has grown over the summer.
I know you will find this meeting informative. Please bring your student and we can help you with anything you need to start or continue in the orchestra program.
What size viola do you think we should get for our 5th grade boy?
ReplyDeleteIt depends how big your son is. The best thing to do is to go to Summerhays music in Orem or to Bert Murdock also in Orem and have them fit him for an instrument. The reason being, if the instrument is too large it can cause strain on his muscles and can cause pain. If the instrument is much too small it can give him trouble playing in tune. If you are going to err on one side or the other it is best to have an instrument that is a little small rather than a little big. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with. Thanks-Shara
